BESPOKE BUILDS

Exactly what you’re looking for

“I just can’t find a cupboard* to fit this space!”

*Substitute whichever piece of furniture you’ve been searching for since you moved into the house.

The Odd Thing doesn’t believe in settling for second best. And we don’t believe you should either. There’s no point buying an off-the-shelf piece of furniture because that’s ‘all you could find to fit the space’. It won’t bring you any joy and you’ll probably grow to resent it.

Your home should be a haven. It should reflect your personality. Save yourself from trawling the Internet and spending every weekend at retail parks searching for something that doesn’t exist. Choose handmade furniture that’s designed to match you and your home.

Bespoke furniture design

When you commission your own bespoke piece you’ll get the very best in quality, handcrafted design. You can adapt a shelf to display a treasured ornament, create a console table for a narrow hallway or bedside tables that match and fit snuggly either side of the bed.

Absolutely love the beautifully crafted curved corners, very tactile and classy. The mirror coordinates perfectly with the rest of our oak furniture - we’re made up!

How the furniture design process works

  1. Find some pictures of furniture you like the look and style of (Pinterest is a good place to start)

  2. Measure the space where the furniture will go

  3. Send us the measurements and pictures and any other ideas and specifications like colour and materials.

  4. We’ll pull together some design ideas and provide some pricing options.

  5. Once you’re happy with the quote we can pop over and see you, check measurements and confirm the project details and timescales.

*P.S. We don’t do fitted furniture or kitchens. You’ll need a joiner for that!
