FAQ

How much does upcycling and furniture design cost?

I know it’s a cliché, but every project I work on is totally unique. Odd Things don’t come as standard so we don’t have a standard fee structure. Our fees depend on the size of the project, cost of materials and how much labour is involved. For upcycling services, please complete the contact form and upload pictures of your piece with approx. dimensions. From there, I will be able to give you a rough estimate. For furniture design, please contact me for a chat.

I’m not sure what design I want, can you help me with ideas?

Of course! This is my favourite kind of project. Let’s begin with a chat and take it from there.

Can you help me select fabric for reupholstery?

Yes, I have a great relationship with a local Interior Designer and access to their full range of fabric sample books. When I come to view the piece, I will bring a selection of books with me based on our initial conversation, or you can visit the shop yourself to browse.

How soon can I have my piece of furniture back?

Removing ten layers of paint clearly takes a lot longer than a simple repair and refinish job. I will agree a timescale for every job and do my very best to stick to it. Old furniture always harbours hidden secrets. I promise to keep you updated on progress, and please bear with me if it takes a little longer than anticipated. The end result will be worth the wait!

Can you collect and deliver?

Yes, I will collect and deliver your item back to you. Transport costs to a single address are included in every quote unless you would prefer to arrange this yourself.

What areas do you cover?

We’re based in Antrobus, near Northwich, Cheshire and offer furniture design and upcycling in Warrington, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and across the North West of England. If you live outside the region, please take a look at our online shop. We can arrange delivery to addresses in the UK.

Do you source items?

I am unable to offer a furniture sourcing service at the moment, but I do have a stock of items in the workshop ready for transformation, including a wide selection of chairs and armchairs, bedside tables, drinks cabinets, sideboards and more. If you are searching for something specific, get in touch and I’ll check what’s in stock.

Do you design and fit built-in wardrobes and kitchens?

Afraid not. You’ll need a joiner to do that.

If you can’t see the answer to your question here, please contact me and I’ll reply as soon as I’ve turned off the power tools!
